Leading polymer component manufacturer Icon Polymer Ltd has won a major contract to supply the torsion bushes for the running gear of the Warthog Bronco all-terrain vehicle produced by Singapore Technologies Kinetics.
More than 100 Warthog tracked carriers have been ordered by the MoD for use in Afghanistan. The vehicle was developed by Singapore Technologies Kinetics and has been used by the Singapore armed forces for a number of years.
Icon Polymer’s director of sales, John Greaves, said: “We have an excellent record in producing safety and mission-critical components for defence applications and we have won this order because we have been able to demonstrate the high performance and durability of our components.”
The company, which recently won a three-year contract to supply the rubber moulding for 14,000 Warrior fighting vehicles, designs and manufactures high performance, safety critical, polymer-based components for aerospace, defence, transportation, power, energy and various industrial markets. Its products range from aerodynamic seals and air-to-air refuelling hoses to customised vibration control components in rail and construction vehicles which are supplied worldwide.
